Abstract:
The objective ofthis project is to stress upon the return on information that can be get
by building a Data Warehouse in the~judiciary system of Pakistan. The project takes
the proposal on small scale by demonstrating a data warehouse at Sindh high court and
managing data marts at the district and session courts in Karachi.
The report includes introduction and background on Business Intelligence and
processes of Data Warehousing. The report includes phases that the project will go
through, techniques used to build a reasonable design for the data warehouse and data
marts. The methodology to carry out the project is discussed in the report. The report
discusses the data warehouse approach injustice departments all around the world, and
current status of web and mobile applications used in judiciary system of Pakistan.
The proposal suggests the management of a data warehouse at the Supreme Court of
Pakistan being governed by NJAC (National Judiciary Automation Committee) that
will integrate data marts at the High Courts in all provinces which would maintain data
from the data marts of each district and session’s court. For demonstration of the
judiciary data warehouse, we design a data warehouse at the Sindh High Court that
would gather data from data marts district and session’s court in the two districts of
Karachi South and Karachi East. The report includes project screen shots, schema
designs, the process of ETL for this project are also discussed and also includes OLAP
reporting attempted in the project. The report also includes challenges faced in
different development phases ofthe project. Recommendations for future development
and conclusions are also included in the report.
