Abstract:
Using mobile phones for Collaborative Learning (CL) is one of the finest ideas of
student-based learning system in this era ofmobility and cutting edge technologies. It
provides a better floor for implementing new methods of collaborative learning and
interacting with fellow beings, where group of students work together to solve,
complete or create a task, with evolving anywhere and everywhere conception. The
main focal point of the current research is to find the effect of Mobile Supported
Collaborative Learning (MSCL) in social psychological studies. In psychological
studies thoughts, feelings and behaviours of any individual are influenced by genuine,
fictional or implied existence of others’ opinions. For the current artefact, an
application naming MindSpeaks is being developed, which is based on a refined
Engestrom’s model for mobile supported collaborative learning designs and concerns.
The application MindSpeaks provide discussion forums, blogs, chat rooms, comments,
group interactions, study guide etc. Significant conclusions from current study
established that mobile based collaborative learning increased students’ learning as
well their engagement and motivation as compare to conventional method of
classroom based learning. Using mobile technology as a collaborative mean of
learning also improved flexibility among space, time and place. Along with mobile
media and information technology literacy.
