dc.description.abstract | Pakistan is recognized as a country with low income along with poor human development indicators. Although its contribution to green house gases is very minute in comparison with more advanced and developed countries (0.8% of the total GHG emissions), it is one of the major victims of the severe affects of climate changes. This study is an attempt to explore the affect of climate changes on the economical growth of Pakistan by comparing national level data from the period of 1973-2015. It has been found that temperature had a negative and significant relationship with the GDP, as well as with the productivity in the agriculture and service sectors of the country. The severities of the negative impacts are higher for the agricultural sector as compared to others. This poses as a huge concern since Pakistan is predominantly reliant on the agricultural sector and recent policies pose a grave concern to the aspect of climate change on this sector as it imposes greater reliance of the industries in Pakistan. | en_US |
