Abstract:
Purpose:
The purpose of this research study is to determine the components of Training and
Development currently being implemented in Banking Sector of Karachi and to analyze the
effects of these components on employee retention mediating role of organizational
engagement.
Methodology / sample:
The nature of this research is explanatory and quantitative. A well-structured questionnaire
was used as research instrument for the collection of primary data. Using PLS Software:
Cronbach Alpha, Regression, Outer Loading and Model Fit Summary tests were applied.
Data was collected from middle level managerial employees of Banking Sector of Karachi.
Target population is 460 and as per Krejcie and Morgan, 1970 table, sample size is 210.
Findings:
The results analysis reveals that training and development components used in this research
are taken into consideration in Banking Sector of Karachi and there is a positive impact of
these T&D components on employee retention mediating role of organizational engagement.
Out of three only one hypothesis that is related to Training Methods is rejected and
remaining hypothesis are accepted.
Recommendations:
This research proves that T&D improves employee retention and organizational engagement
prospects. On the whole it has great effects on Employee Retention and Organizational
