| dc.description.abstract | Purpose This study presents an empirical study on multidirectional relationship between sustainable supplier management (SSM) practices and buyer-supplier performance from the perspective of buying firms. In this study the author focuses on four practices of SSM which are sustainable supplier selection, sustainable supplier monitoring, sustainable supplier development and sustainable supplier collaboration and test their impact on three measures of buyer-supplier performance named as supplier performance, buyer-supplier relationship and buyer competitive advantage. Design and Approach The research design of this research paper is explanatory in nature and the approaches used in this study are quantitative in nature, deductive approach and a cross sectional in nature. The conceptual model was proposed and tested by using SPSS Findings The findings obtained from this study elaborate that sustainable supplier selection, sustainable supplier development and sustainable supplier collaboration has a significant and positive impact on supplier performance and on buyer supplier relationship. It is also observed that the supplier development and supplier collaboration has significant positive impact on buyer competitive advantage. Limitations The limitations for this research are as follows: For this study the time constraint is the major factor as more time could provide moie knowledge regarding the research topic. The research survey is based on only manufacturing industries of Pakistan. The research survey is based on the perspectives of buying firms. Recommendations It is also observed that due to the lack of awareness ofsustainability in manufacturing industries some ofthe hypotheses are rejected therefore it is recommended that trainings and sustainability awareness programs are required in industries or organizations ofPakistan so that they can get awareness on sustainability. | en_US |
