dc.description.abstract The present study is an attempt to investigate employee behaviors namely employee loyalty (affective commitment and continuance commitment) and employee engagement and whether there is an influence offormer on the latter. The study is cross-sectional and entailed quantitative techniques. Survey methodology was used for which data was collected via questionnaires from employees from services sector through convenient sampling. Further, correlation and regression techniques were employed to test the relationship between the dependent and the independent variables. The results imply that in order to have engaged employees at the workplace, they need to be committed to the organization, affective commitment being a predominant factor in determining the engagement of employees. The research may contribute to the existing body of literature on engagement and the findings may have practical implications for managers. Employee engagement brings positive outcomes for the organizations, therefore, for increasing and enhancing employee engagement, management, especially HR needs to devise policies that build employees’ commitment towards their organizations. en_US
