Abstract:
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to investigate the reason to why the employees of the banking sector of
Pakistan were not able to meet the right balance between work and their personal life, also known as Work life Balance. Only two separate potential causes for this misbalance were considered for this study; Locus of
Control and Perceived Stress. Two dimensions of this balance were taken separately in two different models
namely Work Interference with Personal Life and Personal Life Interference with Work. The first model
aimed to investigate the impact of Locus of Control and Perceived stress on work Interference with Personal
Life. While the second investigated the impact of Locus of Control and Perceived Stress on Personal Life
Interference with Work.
Methodology and design
To test the hypothesis causal research was conducted. Primary data from 254 banking sector employees was
collected from across Pakistan through questionnaire. Regression analysis was used to find the relationship
amongst the variables.
Findings
A significant, positive relation was found among the locus of control, perceived stress and work interference
d personal life interference with work where as no significant relation with personal life, perceived stress
was found between locus of control and personal life interference with woik.

Limitation
This research was conducted in a limited period of time. Convenience sampling was used for collection of
data as well as approaching many areas of the country was not possible. Recommendation
Further study should be conducted to study how the effects of these variables can be minimized or reduced
to benefit the sector and beyond more helping organizations in employee well being
