Abstract:
Purpose: To determine the impact of work environment, job characteristics and human
resource practices on employee turnover intention in the pharmaceutical companies of
Karachi, Pakistan. Methodology: Using GPower software for sample size estimation, the study has included 276 employees of pharmaceutical company from Karachi, Pakistan. Five-point Likert scale instrument while PLS-SEM using SmartPLS version 3.2.8 has questionnaire has been used as been employed in the study for data analysis.
: The results showed that HR practices (-0.290, p < 0.05) has negatively significant Findings impact on employees’ turnover intention while job characteristics (0.420, p < 0.05) and work environment (0.440, p < 0.05) have positive relationship with employees’ turnover intention.
Conclusion: The study concluded that HR practices, helps to reduce the intentions among the employees to leave the organization. Therefore, pharmaceutical companies need to focus reduce employee turnover intention. Moreover, it has been
revealed that job characteristics and deviant work environment in pharmaceutical companies not up to the mark leading to increases turnover intentions among employees.
Implications: Managers can focus on monetary benefits that have a great impression
HR practices but overall organizational practices should be
on the HR practices in order to are on turnover intentions. Further; not
focused for improvement and organizational excellence
