Abstract:
Purpose - The purpose of this study was to explore the determinants and outcome of
sustainable reverse logistic capabilities in petrochemical industry.
Design/Methodology/Approach - Probabilistic, stratified non-proportionate sampling was
carried out. The target population was the managerial staff ofthe petrochemical industries of
Pakistan. Only 468 people makeup the complete population.
Findings - The findings indicate a mediating relationship of sustainable reverse logistics
capabilities between two independent variables, which are commitment to sustainable supply
chain management and commitment to sustainable reverse logistics with the dependent
variable, operational performance.
Research Limitations/Implications - The scope of this study is limited in terms of
geographical and technological constrain, along with the restriction ofthe social lab, thus not
generalizable to other industries.
Practical Implications - The study realizes the managers and decision makers about the
importance and value of sustainable supply chain management and take appropriate steps
toward the usage of resources. For organization involving in sustainable supply chain
management, the key factors for improving the operational performance is to craft the
sustainable reverse logistic capabilities.
- This study contributes towards the recommendations which would
environment friendly in their approach which will
Originality/Value
enable the petrochemical firms to be more
ultimately increase performance.
