Implementation of SCM practice helps to improve the existing supply chain area of an
industry. The main focus ofthe research is to examine the influence of SC practices which
are (i.e. close relationship with customers (CRC), strategic supplier partnership (SSP), level
of information sharing (LIS) and postponement (PP)) on the firms performance. So the
research define the underlying dimensions of SCM practices on organizational performance
with special emphasize on pharma sector of Karachi, Pakistan. The population size ofthe 12
pharmaceutical companies consists of 1500 workers. Moreover, minimum sample size which
is needed for this study is 306 (Ume Sekran). Also convenient sampling has been done for
the study. This research is quantitative and primary data were used. Adopted questionnaire is
used as research instrument. Also descriptive statistics (i.e. mean, median, mode, standard
deviation) and regression analysis were used to examine the influence of SCM performs on
performance of an organization. Furthermore, it is observed that there is a fruitful impact of
practices of SC (i.e. CRC, SSP, LIS, and PP) on performance of pharmaceutical firms.
Consequently, limitation ofthis research is that, it is only limited to pharma sectors which the
are located in Karachi, Pakistan only. So that it is suggested that additional investigation
be carried out on the organizations which are not located in Karachi, Pakistan and as well
can
firms which are not a manufacturing enterprises (i.e. service and research can be performs on
merchandising companies). Moreover, it is also suggested that forthcoming study can be
enlarge on the area of SC practices by seeing farther scopes and likewise pursue to utilize
numerous respondents in order to improve the findings. |
