Abstract:
A levitation train is a train system which is levitated in the air with the help of a number of magnets on the railway track and the rail car. These magnets are fixed in such a way that the faces of magnets on the track keep repelling the faces of the magnets on railcar, whereas the guide line magnets keep the railcar balanced in horizontal direction.
1.2 Why?
The benefit of this system over the traditional train system is that it can achieve faster speed as there are no mechanical parts involved and the only resistance is due to the drag force of air on faster speeds. Moreover it has a 20Db noise pollution effect on environment which is way less than a single common four wheel vehicle. As far as the power consumption is concerned, the train consumes more power on slower speeds and is not beneficial for small distances but for long distances it has power consumption almost equal to the traditional train system
