With the use of suitable switching circuit (electronic circuit and control circuit), converted alternating current can be at any required voltage and frequency. The opposite of rectifier is an inverter. Static inverters lack moving parts. They are used for a high-voltage DC transmission line. DC is transformed into three-phase AC.
