dc.description.abstract An inverter which converts DC (Direct Current) to AC (alternating current). With the use of suitable switching circuit (electronic circuit and control circuit), converted alternating current can be at any required voltage and frequency. The opposite of rectifier is an inverter. Static inverters lack moving parts. They are used for a high-voltage DC transmission line. DC is transformed into three-phase AC. These inverters are generally used to provide AC power from the sources of DC. They are used in the applications for instance small switching power supplies in the computers en_US
